In Las Vegas, attendees at CinemaCon were treated to an exhilarating sneak peek of the forthcoming Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael,” directed by Antoine Fuqua and slated for release on April 18, 2025. The film features Jaafar Jackson, the King of Pop’s nephew, portraying the music legend and is currently in production.

The teaser showcased captivating moments, with MJ’s mother Katherine, portrayed by Nia Long, delivering a heartfelt message: “Michael, you have a very special light. So let your light shine unto the world.” Viewers glimpsed scenes of the young Jackson with the Jackson 5, as well as electrifying concert performances showcasing his signature smooth moves, impeccably captured by Jaafar Jackson.

During a Lionsgate presentation, producer Graham King, known for “Bohemian Rhapsody,” assured audiences that the biopic would encompass Jackson’s musical triumphs, featuring over 30 songs, as well as his controversies. Describing Jackson as “an enigma full of eccentricities,” King emphasized the complexity of portraying his life onscreen, acknowledging the multitude of opinions surrounding the music icon.

The star-studded cast includes Colman Domingo as family patriarch Joe Jackson, Miles Teller as attorney John Branca, Kat Graham as Diana Ross, and Larenz Tate as Berry Gordy.
