‘Daunting’ Michael Jackson biopic wows CinemaCon with first footage of Jaafar Jackson
In Las Vegas, attendees at CinemaCon were treated to an exhilarating sneak peek of the forthcoming Michael Jackson biopic, “Michael,” directed by Antoine Fuqua and slated for release on April 18, 2025. The film features Jaafar Jackson, the King of Pop’s nephew, portraying the music legend and is currently in production.
The teaser showcased captivating moments, with MJ’s mother Katherine, portrayed by Nia Long, delivering a heartfelt message: “Michael, you have a very special light. So let your light shine unto the world.” Viewers glimpsed scenes of the young Jackson with the Jackson 5, as well as electrifying concert performances showcasing his signature smooth moves, impeccably captured by Jaafar Jackson.
Accompanied by the iconic track “Man in the Mirror,” the footage delved into various musical milestones while also touching on aspects of family life and the challenges of fame, including moments of vulnerability and hospitalization.
